Your task is missing today: search before creating another

Widen the search before typing it again

If you remember saving a task but cannot see it today, pause before creating it again. Search for a distinctive word from its title and check the scope: work in another sphere or a deferred moment need not appear in the plan you are viewing.

Ora documents global search across the inbox, every sphere and deferred moments, with combinable filters. Finding a result does not schedule it for today: first identify it and check where it belongs.

One word, three different tasks

Fictional example: you search for “poster”. Your inbox has “Ask for the poster dimensions”; a weekend sphere has “Design the gathering poster”; deferred moments contain “Review poster with confirmed time”. These are three different actions, not three duplicates to delete.

Start with that word and broaden the available scope before narrowing it. Keeping the wrong project or status selected can hide the result you want. An empty list does not prove that you never saved it.

Use filters to separate, not to guess

Search supports scope, sphere, project, label, status, category, priority and energy. Add only a filter whose value you remember. If you are unsure about a label, leave it open; you can narrow by the sphere you identify from a result later.

  • Read the full title: asking for a dimension and reviewing a file are different actions.
  • Check where the result lives and whether it matches the unfinished work you remember.
  • Review the notes and steps of the task you identified before rewriting material you already kept.
  • If nothing appears, remove filters individually and try another title word; this guide does not claim that search covers arbitrary note text.

Decide after finding it

In this example, you need to confirm the time before reviewing the poster. Finding the deferred moment recovers that intention; it does not prove that anyone confirmed the time. Check through the actual relevant channel.

If you decide to put it into the plan, review its duration and existing commitments. Search does not increase the 24-hour capacity or complete steps for you. If two captures describe the same action, compare their contents before deciding what to keep: this guide does not propose automatic cleanup.
