Count what already occupies the day
Your work tasks fitting inside the sphere does not establish that you represented the whole day. If sleep, meals, travel or care are missing, the unallocated space must also cover those parts of your life.
Ora uses bubbles to show the time you allocate and maintains a hard 24-hour limit. That limit does not decide how much sleep you need or how long preparing food takes. You choose those reservations for your circumstances.
An example before adding work
Imagine this fictional allocation for an ordinary day. These figures are choices in the example, rather than health recommendations or durations calculated by Ora. They are separate, non-overlapping blocks.
- Sleep: 8 hours.
- Preparing and eating meals: 1.5 hours.
- Travel: 1 hour.
- Care and household tasks: 2 hours.
- Total allocated: 12.5 hours. Of the 24, 11.5 remain before adding work and other activities.
Seven hours of work do not cover everything still to come
Adding seven work hours brings the example to 19.5 hours, leaving 4.5 unallocated. That does not mean you should turn them into another assignment. You may still need leisure, rest, errands, transitions or room for changes.
Before filling that remainder, check for omissions. If you eat while caring for someone, do not count the same period twice as separate hours. If you must travel between commitments, allow for that journey instead of assuming it is already inside both.
Bring the allocation into your sphere
Allocate time to the parts you want to represent, then review bubble titles and durations. Ora lets you edit from each bubble in minimal view. Tasks you are not placing yet can stay in the inbox, with projects, labels, notes or checklists.
If adding the rest of your day means everything no longer fits, review your estimates or the commitment you want to change. Keeping a task in the inbox preserves the pending work; it does not reserve hours in the day. The sphere does not guarantee completion or turn a feasible plan into an event that already happened.
Planning and recording are separate decisions
An eight-hour reservation does not establish eight elapsed hours. Ora distinguishes allocated time from recorded time, which can be tracked with a timer or manual corrections. Planned-versus-actual comparison is a Pro feature.
Start by representing one day with its personal commitments and checking what is missing; this sum does not require buying an advanced feature. Review current features and availability before choosing a plan.
