Back-to-back meetings: the time between them needs space in Ora too

If one ends at ten and the next starts at ten, there is no transition

Two consecutive meetings from 09:30 to 10:00 and from 10:00 to 10:30 occupy one hour, but leave no interval to close notes, drink water or prepare for the next conversation. If you need ten minutes between them, adding those minutes to the daily total is not enough: check where they fit and which commitment needs to change.

Ora can represent allocated time with bubbles and lets you review a proposal when plans change. You still decide what happens to the meetings and the gap; the sphere does not automatically reserve other people’s availability.

An example: find a real opening

Imagine agreeing to end the first meeting at 09:50 while keeping the second at 10:00. That leaves ten minutes between them. If the first must last until 10:00, you need another agreement: for example, start the second at 10:10 if everyone can, or find another time. These are choices in the example, not automatic changes.

Name the two commitments and the transition you need in your plan; compare their times with your actual calendar. A daily total within 24 hours does not itself prove that a gap exists between two appointments.

Decide what the ten minutes are for

Choose a modest purpose: note one pending decision or prepare the document for the next call. If the interval is also your break, avoid filling it with more work. You can use Ora notes for a reminder without publishing private information.

If you need more time than is available, decide what to reduce, move or agree with others. Renaming a bubble does not change the time someone else expects.

Check the change before applying it

Ora’s public feature page describes reviewing a delay or a new appointment, protecting commitments and dependencies; applying or undoing a proposal is a Pro feature. Read the proposal against your real times before deciding. Full acceptance of the Google Calendar connection remains pending, so this guide does not rely on a validated synchronisation.

Ora features and availability

Need to protect availability for other people’s bookings?

Calendly documents buffers before or after a meeting that affect available booking times. Check its current terms if you need to manage appointments with other people. Here Ora helps you review your own plan: we do not claim it automatically changes their calendars. Source checked 1 November 2026.
